I just found out what external turn binds are, and what they allow surfers to do. Are they allowed to be used? Coulndt find anything in the forum addressing it.

From my understanding some maps aren't even doable without turn binds

If you're talking about using a third party program to 'fine tune' turn binds - use at your own risk. I'm aware of a program that does this which some surfers use... but don't be surprised if one day Valve recognizes external assistance that is being utilized with their game client and issues a VAC/game ban.

Not worth the potential risk imo.

thats exactly what im talking about. 3rd party external turn binds that allow ppl to control the rate at which they turn bind beyond just normal and walking speed. if you ask me its cheating. i talked to ppl with recs and ppl i looked up to and they said yea they use external software to do it.

whos to stop somoene from making a completely programmed route using this kind of external software?

not sure if i can surf anymore if thats what it means to be good. dont get me wrong, there are plenty of amazing surfers who dont even use in game turn binds, but i always thought everyone in the servers were on a level playing field when it came to software. it disappointed the hell out of me to find out.

I wouldn't put too much thought into it - the ability to have a fine tuned turnbind speed has a miniscule impact on actual runs. The ability to adjust the rate of your turn binds was in CS:S, and unfortunately did not make it over to CS:GO.

In my opinion, it's more convenience than anything else. This feature isn't a replacement for skill.

We have on rare occasion seen movement recorders. I believe in all instances except for one, they were picked up by the anticheat. These work very, very differently.

My dumbass was thinking about the console commands for turn binds. I didn't even know about 3rd party turn binds lmaoo. And for someone with only t1 PBs, I just assumed those t6 maps gotta have some extra flair to it

No need! Perfectly good discussion that others may be interested in and find value from. It's all very fair questions and others may have input as well.
