the server spits out an error messsage with a link to what needs to be downloaded upon joining so I go there extract the .bz2 into a bsp copy the bsp and rename the copy to a .nav then retry in console in order to join with the faceit anti-cheat running
a picture of my recent downloads if it's of any relevance.
I tested with this page aswell just to see if other maps worked and they did showned here map that does not work map that works show casing that it is an issue with the map
TLDR I generally get the link from the console via the error message it sends out.
98% of custom maps we run are zipped and uploaded to our fastdl webserver. The other 2% of maps are actually over 150mb, which the CS:GO client cannot unzip by default, so they are uploaded in their raw bsp format, uncompressed. This stops CS:GO from downloading the bzip archive, realizing it can't unzip it, then falling back to the .bsp.
tl;dr The maps exist 100% of the time, sometimes just uncompressed because they're too big for CS:GO client to download. Remove .bz2 to download ?
