The glow item still shows when you have !hide on. It tanks my FPS from 300 to 50. Is this something that can be fixed to not show with !hide on at least?
Because of the way that every !hide plugin works (this one is embedded in KZTimer), you'll see the residule store items floating around, which includes the glows.
I looked into the glows, and I see that the store utilizes light_dynamic, which I've done some research on, and come to learn that this entity can be pretty expensive on players fps. I'll take a look this week into possibly being able to swap it to something a little less taxing on players fps, I've sent a message to someone I know who is very familiar with entities such as these and see what he says might be a viable replacement (if any).
Thanks! I appreciate the effort. It isn't an everyday thing that people are using them and most are happy to turn it off when I ask. It would be nice to accommodate everyone though.
Hmm, looks like the only viable suggestion I got as far as a 'glow' goes doesn't do our glow even remote justice:
Almost laughable how bad that looks That being said, I fiddled with some of the settings of the current glow and found that lowering the distance of the glow provided a significant FPS bump, so that will be how we move forward.
Also, on some maps the FPS 'decrease' is non-existent, and others it is impacted moreso. If a map has a lot of existing expensive lighting/shadows, it will give a bigger hit - where simpler maps you will see little to no decrease in fps.
Halved the distance of the glow, this has provided a significant FPS bump in my tests. Can't say I'll lower it anymore, I don't want it to be any darker visually. https://snksrv.com/threads/server-update-5-24-19.2160/
