We pay for dedicated machines and could have 100 empty servers that would not cost us a dime more. We do not pay per slot or game server instance, nor does an empty or low pop server use any significant resources. A little addition, the server does get enjoyed by several folks from time to time, and I'm ok with keeping it that way.

Our machines are comfortably maxed out every night, so no new game servers will be coming on our existing hardware. We are expanding to the west coast soon:
