Request WRs / top10 ideas

An idea is maybe when somebody gets a WR a message could be brought up on all servers saying who beat it and what map. And maybe also a top10 counter or stage records counter would be really cool and prob increase competition in sever

Don't really know of a good way of doing cross-server announcements at the moment, not sure how I'd accomplish it.

Adding top # shouldn't be too hard, just gotta write up the queries.

something like surf heaven would be cool, where if someone gets a rec an announcement goes in text and people can type !congrats or whatever and the person on the other server who got rec would see it

If we're talking about the same guys, I have their method but its super sloppy and unnecessarily expensive. Basically every time a record was made, it stored the completion in a separate database table, then on a timer would delete after X seconds. Every server would check for items in the new records table, and announce anything there every X seconds. I think he ended up saying fuck it because it was so bad. That's a super sloppy, and inaccurate solution.
