If you haven't heard of Counter Strike: Classic Offensive, it's essentially a CS:GO mod that replicates all the good parts of 1.6. Here's the trailer:
You can get it here (for download look under Files): http://www.moddb.com/mods/counter-strike-classic-offensive
Installation steps:
Download the zip file from the link above
Open it up, find the folder that's called "csco"
This step is a bit more involved, here we'll be extracting the folder "csco" to the same drive that contains your CS:GO installation, however in a slightly different directory. If your Steam installation is in the default directory in the C: drive, you want to extract to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods (note "sourcemods")
Completely exit out of your steam, restart it, and you're good to launch the game!
If you can't quite figure it out, here's a quick and concise video showing how to install the mod!

I setup a barebones casual server last night and played a bit, definitely was a lot of fun. There are lots of people trying to play this, and only a few servers are available. Eventually I want to host one casual, and one 5v5 competitive server.
